GÊRMAN CHOCOLATÊ CAKÊ |
INGRÊDIÊNTS:
- 6 êgg yolks
- 12 oz can êvaporatêd milk
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla êxtract
- 1 1/2 cups (310g) sugar
- 3/4 cup (168g) buttêr, cubêd
- 3 cups (255g) swêêtênêd shrêddêd coconut
- 1 1/4 cups choppêd toastêd pêcans
- 3/4 cup (168g) unsaltêd buttêr, room têmpêraturê
- 1 1/2 cups (310g) sugar
- 1/4 cup (58g) sour crêam, room têmpêraturê
- 1 tsp vanilla êxtract
- 8 oz (226g) Gêrman chocolatê, mêltêd
- 4 largê êggs, sêparatêd
- 2 1/2 cups (325g) all purposê flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
DIRÊCTIONS:
- In a largê saucêpan, combinê thê êgg yolks, milk and vanilla êxtract and whisk until wêll combinêd.
- Add thê sugar and buttêr and cook on mêdium hêat for 12-15 minutês, or until thickênêd and almost pudding-likê and goldên brown, stirring constantly.
- Rêmovê from hêat and stir in coconut and pêcans.
- Sêt in thê fridgê to cool complêtêly.
- Prêparê thrêê 9 inch cakê pans with parchmênt papêr circlês in thê bottom and grêasê thê sidês. Prêhêat ovên to 350°F (176°C).
- In a largê mixing bowl, crêam thê buttêr and sugar until light in color and fluffy, about 3-4 minutês.
- Add thê sour crêam and vanilla êxtract and mix until wêll combinêd.
